HIL : Kalinga Lancers lose 2-3 to Mumbai Magicians in last match

The Kalinga Lancers ended their campaign in the second Hero Hockey India League (HHIL) tournament after losing their last league match against Mumbai Magicians by 3-2 in a keenly contested match at the Mumbai Hockey Association Stadium here this evening. Hockey India League

For Mumbai Magicians, Glenn Turner scored a field goal in the 17th minute while his team mate Mark Gleghorne scored the second goal in 33rd minute through a penalty corner. 

Kalinga Lancers reduced the margin when Mohammed Nizammudin scored the first goal for his team in the 43rd minute. But Magicians were back in the game in the 57th minute with Ravipal Singh scoring the third goal. 

However, the Lancers struck a minute later through a field goal by Lucas Vila to keep the reduce the goal deficit.

It was the maiden win this season for Mumbai Magicians,after eight matches in the tournament.

The win gave Mumbai Magicians five points and took their tally to 13 points from nine games, while the Lancers won one point from the match to remain at fifth position with 17 points from 10 games.
