Members of Odisha Government High School Contractual Teachers Association today gheraoed the official residence of School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra here demanding fulfillment of their 10-point charter of demands.

The demands of the association include revocation of Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET), introduction of transfer facility, 10 per cent hike in grade pay and salary hike.

The teachers have warned that the agitation will continue till fulfillment of their demands by the state government.

Later in the day, they marched towards Lower PMG here in a rally where a scuffle ensued between the teachers and policemen while the former were trying to proceed towards the State Assembly by breaking the barricade.

Several teachers were detained in the incident.
