The IPS officer’s daughter and his wife were coming in a Swift car. They were asked by a lady traffic cop to stop their vehicle at AG Square when the they tried to violate the rule, a source said.
“The traffic constable slapped on my face and pushed me inside the car,” the girl told the media.
Later, the traffic constable apologised, she added.
Soon after the news spread, girl’s father Pranabindu Acharya, working as an Additional Director General (ADG) of Railways and Coastal Security, rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
No written complaint from either side was lodged, sources added.
