Bhubaneswar: Jharkhand Police yesterday arrested Tirpuati Choudhury, the Vice-Chairman of Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital here on charges of duping a student of Rs 5 lakh.
As per the complaint, Choudhury had taken Rs 5 lakh from one Ramdhar Pautik of Bokaro area in Jharkhand in 2013 by assuring him to get his admission into the college for MBBS course. However, Choudhury could not facilitate Pautik’s admission into the college and did not even return his money.
Later, Pautik lodged a complaint at a local police station in Jharkhand. Based on the complaint, the Jharkhand police with the help of Sahid Nagar police arrested Choudhury from his office yesterday. He was later produced before court today.
However, the official refuted the allegation terming it as false and fabricated.
