People reeling under scorching heat wave in Odisha are unlikely to get any immediate respite as the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre today predicted that the conditions are likely to prevail in interior/western parts of the state till May 1.
It further predicted that temperature would remain between 43 and 45 degree Celsius in western districts of Odisha for a week.
“Numerical models indicate that the heat wave like condition likely to prevail over Interior/Western districts of Odisha for a week and the temperature range may be between 43 and 45 degree Celsius in western districts of Odisha,” a release of the meteorological centre said.
Though there may be decrease in day maximum temperature between April 29 and May 1 but thereafter, the temperature likely to rise again, it said.
Temperature in some of the coastal districts may increase up to 40 degree Celsius but sea breeze likely to prevail in these areas in the afternoon, it added.
