The searing heat wave continued to torment Odisha as temperatures went past 40 degree Celsius in 15 towns and cities of the state today.
While Titlagarh recorded the highest temperature at 44.5 degree on Saturday, the capital city recorded the highest temperature of this season with 43.9 degree.
Mercury went up to 40 degree and above in Chandbali (41.7), Cuttack (40), Angul (41.9), Baripada (41.8), Jharsuguda (42.1), Keonjhargarh (42.5), Sundargarh (42), Hirakud (42.8), Talcher (43.2), Bhawanipatna (44), Bolangir (44.2), Sonepur (42.2) and Dhenkanal (41.7).
The local Met office in a release here this evening has warned that the severe heat wave in Odisha would continue for another week, until May 24.
