While temperature came down appreciably in the coastal districts of Odisha, there was no respite from the heat wave in the interior districts of Odisha on Wednesday.
Bhawanipatna recorded the highest temperature of the day at 41.8 degree Celsius, while temperature remained at 40 degree and above in Sambalpur (40.2), Talcher (40), Bolangir-40, Titlagarh (41) and Malkangiri (40.2).
The capital city of Bhubaneswar recorded 38.2 degree.
The Met office has predicted that thunder squall accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 km could occur at one or two places over south Odisha during next 48 hours.
