Cuttack, Apr 24:
The High Court today concluded the hearing and reserved the verdict on the petition of former Odisha DGP Prakash Mishra seeking quashing of a vigilance case against him.
Prakash Mishra, presently posted as CRPF DG, had moved High Court to quash the FIR registered by the Vigilance against him following a departmental inquiry into the procurement of building materials during the petitioner’s tenure as chairman of Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPHWC) between 2005 and 2009.
The 1977 batch IPS officer is facing the Vigilance case for allegedly showing undue favours to some suppliers in 2006 thereby causing pecuniary loss to the state exchequer.
