Group clash over land dispute leaves five critical in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: At least five persons were critically injured due to a group clash over a land dispute at Kapura village under Simulia police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district today.

According to reports, a dispute was prevailing between two groups of the village over a controversial patch of land in the locality.

When a group tried to take possession of the land today, the other group attacked the former with sword and knives.

Nizam Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Sarjina Khatun, Maujuddin Khan and Saimuddin Khan of the village were grievously injured in the attack and admitted to Simulia hospital. They were later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital as their condition deteriorated.

Police have started investigation into the incident. Palpable tension gripped the village after the clash.
