Unidentified miscreants today robbed Rs 10.72 lakh from a group of four traders early this morning near Odisha’s Begunia.
The incident occurred at about 5 AM this morning when the traders were travelling on Tikatala-Manibandha road under Begunia police limits of Khurda district.
The robbers used a Bolero vehicle to trail the businessmen travelling in a Scorpio and stopped them midway. They opened fire on the vehicle apart from assaulting them with iron rods and machetes injuring them.
The robbers fled the spot once they had the money.
The injured businessmen have been admitted to Khurda hospital. A complaint has also been lodged with Begunia police in the context.
“I know the men who attacked us and took away our money. This is a well coordinated act,” said a businessman from the group.
Local cops are investigating the incident.
