Starting the enquiry as directed by Mayurbhanj collector, the DEO has recorded the statements of the students and has questioned the staff members of the school including the teachers.

“I have verified the complaints submitted by the students and have recorded their statements. They really don’t have much of an issue. They were exhorted by some elements to do so. We will take action against those people,” said DEO Pratibha Manjari Das.

“The students had become undisciplined. Even though they were cautioned, they acted this way after being pressurized by some people,” said hostel superintendent Padmabati Raj speaking about the January 26 incident.

Notably, the girl students marched for five hours and covered about 25 kilometres to meet the collector and complain against the alleged misbehaviour of hostel authorities on the night of January 26. Besides, they also cited that their studies was being affected because of administrative negligence and no corrective measures are being taken even after repeated complaints as we reported here.
