“I want to thank the CHSE Chairman and the lecturers for completing the evaluation process within the stipulated timeframe irrespective of the issues. This is going to help the students,” he further added.

Briefing about the results, CHSE Chairman Basudev Chhatoi said that out of the 85,000 students enrolled,  84,154 students appeared in the examination.

“Overall, the results have been good this year. Last year, the overall pass percentage stood at 80.31 percent. This year, it is 80.80. While 18,459 students passed in first class last year, this year it improved to 20,191. While 41,203 male students have passed the examination, 26,794 female students have cleared it. Percentage wise, male pass percentage stands at 79.58 and for females, the pass percentage stands at 82.74,” said Chhatoi.

“Only five colleges scored nil result. All of these but one were ex-regular candidates. The only regular student from a Bhadrak based college from this lot also failed. We have withheld the results of the students that had been caught doing malpractice. Their results will be declared after the examination committee studies the cases. We will make those results public after results of Arts and Commerce streams are out,” he added.

Chhatoi further explained that the council had decided to publish the Science stream results first as it was important for the students to meet the June 10 deadline of CBSE for admissions into engineering and medicine courses.

Results have been uploaded to www.orissaresults.nic.in and can be downloaded from 12:45 PM onwards. CHSE has decided against selling result booklets this year.

Students unhappy with their marks can apply for re-addition by applying online on www.chseodisha.nic.in.

The results of the annual Plus Two Arts and Commerce streams would be announced in the last week of May, said Chhatoi. Overall, 3,73,000 students had appeared in the annual Plus II examinations this year.
