Bhubaneswar, Jun 10:
Union Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari, who was on a day-long tour of the state on occasion of BJP’s Vikas Utsav, today ridiculed Odisha Government and said that it neither has any policy or direction.
“Now there is a government that can’t see, even though it has eyes. It has hands that do not move. It can’t walk even though it has legs. Neither there is any policy, nor there are programmes or direction. People continue to vote for them even though they don’t understand what the government is saying,” said Gadkari.
“The government still keeps coming back to power. I fail to understand how this government manages to win and what it does after winning! They themselves do not understand what they are doing. The people do not understand what the government did. The ministers do not know what the officers are doing and the public do not know what the ministers are doing. This is not how a state progresses,” he added.
“This kind of statements ridiculing an elected government doesn’t suit a man of the stature of an union minister. The people of the state not only know about the developmental activities of the government, but also they have realised it. The benefits of the government schemes have reached the public and that is why they are giving us the mandate,” said BJD Spokesperson Amar Prasad Satapathy.
“The Minister might have made the statement because of political necessities, but it bears no resemblance with truth,” he added.
