Bhubaneswar, Oct 21: In a tragic incident, four high school students were swept away this afternoon while they were bathing in the Barang-Puri main canal near Barang Hanuman Vatika on the outskirts of Odisha’s capital city.
Reports said the four students of a government high school in Rail Vihar in the BDA Colony of Chandrasekharpur area of Bhubaneswar had gone for a bath in the Barang-Puri main canal when they were swept away by the strong current.
While the body of one student has been fished out, three others are still missing, reports said.
The body of the student recovered from the canal has been identified as Abhijit Samal.
Locals, fire brigade personnel, ODRAF and policemen were engaged in the rescue operation when reports last came in.
