Four hurt in Posco site village group clash

Four persons were injured, one of them seriously, after two rival groups of villagers clashed at the proposed Posco project site over digging of a trench for a boundary wall along the village border on Friday.

According to reports, people of Noliasahi village opposed a group of villagers of Nuagaon when they along with some Posco officials led by pro-Posco activist Jiban Lal Behera tried to dig the trench along the border of their village.

The incident later turned violent when the Nuagaoan villagers attacked the Noliasahi villagers in which four persons were injured.

Later, the four injured villagers of Noliasahi– Fakir Behera, Damodar Behera, Lili Behera and Sumant Behera- were rushed to the nearest hospital.

The seriously injured Damodar Behera was later shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack after his condition became critical.
