New Delhi, May 30:
A “Kalinga-Lanka Foundation” has been launched to celebrate the historic links between the ancient Kalinga kingdom, now known as Odisha, and Sri Lanka.
The foundation was launched at the Sri Lankan high commission here yesterday, a statement from the mission said Friday.
Former Indian foreign secretary Lalit Mansingh is leading this initiative, the statement said.
The objective of the Kalinga-Lanka Foundation is to rediscover and reinvigorate the rich historic links between the two by way of multi-faceted initiatives for promotion of people-to-people contacts and links in arts and culture, education, skills development, science and technology and tourism.
