Former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) legislator from Khandapada constituency Siddharth Sekhar Singh has resigned from the primary membership of the party today accusing it of not giving due importance to him.
As per reports, Singh has resigned from the primary membership of the party and sent his resignation to party supremo Naveen Patnaik.
Singh was elected from the Khandapada Assembly segment in 2009 and was a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) till 2014.
It may be mentioned that Singh was replaced with Anubhav Patnaik as BJD’s candidate from Khandapada in the last Assembly election sparking strong resentment among his supporters. The former’s supporters staged a protest in front of Naveen Niwas over cancellation of his ticket.
