The life of a promising footballer ended prematurely after he succumbed to an injury while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Odisha capital.
Kedarnath Singh – who led the state football team earlier – succumbed to an on-field injury this morning.
Singh had sustained an injury on his rib cage region while playing a domestic match at Sarankul in Nayagarh district on Saturday. During the match, he had a bad collision with a player of Odisha Police following which he was rushed to a local hospital. Later, he was shifted to a private hospital here.
According to reports, he was to be operated upon for the injury. However, he died this morning.
Many sportspersons have condoled the demise of the promising footballer hailing from Rourkela.
