Well-known social activist Manmohan Mathur, who was also a former MP and former MLA, died here on Tuesday.
He was 68 and is survived by his wife, a daughter and two sons.
Mathur suffered a massive heart stroke while he was returning home on his scooter with his wife and grand-daughter after attending a social function and collapsed on the way on Tuesday evening, family sources said.
He was rushed to hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
Born in Bhawanipatna, Mathur was the Congress MLA from Koksara constituency from 1980 to 1985. He was elected to Rajya Sabha in 1988.
A great sports lover, he was an active member of Kalahandi Cricket Club and also the secretary of Kalahandi Krida Sangha. He was actively involved with numerous outfits like Indian Red Cross Kalahandi district wing, Rogi Kalyan Samiti and Zilla Sanskruti Parishad.
