Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today appointed former Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena as the Chairman of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).
The appointment came ahead of elections indicating that Jena will not be a face of BJD to contest the Assembly polls in the State.
He will assume the office replacing Housing & Urban Development Minister Niranjan Pujari.
Jena was believed to be one of the contenders to get the BJD ticket for the upcoming assembly elections after completion of his tenure as the Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
However, the new assignment by CM Patnaik to former Mayor clearly shows that he will be out of the list of poll candidates.
