Flood water enters low-lying areas in Odisha’s Rourkela


Rourkela: With water level crossing danger mark in Brahmani river near Rourkela, flood water has entered several low-lying areas of the city as well as Sundargarh district.

Balughat and Dandiapalli areas near Panposh in the city have been affected by the flood water, reports said.

As many as 50 families of Balughat have been evacuated by the local administration and kept at Electric Colony Project school.

Worth mentioning, till last reports, the water level in Brahmani near Rourkela was 180.5 metres surpassing the danger mark of 178.61 metres.

Similarly, Ranibagicha and Mahadevpada areas of Sundargarh have beenĀ inundated due to rising water level in Ib river.

On the other hand, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Balasore districts have been put on alert as water level has crossed danger mark in Subarnarekha village at Rajghat in Balasore, the Special Relief Commissioner informed today.
