As many as 30 tribals of five families of Dabuguda village in Odisha’s Malkangiri district left their homes last night after receiving threats from Maoists.


After deserting their homes, they covered a distance of around 40 km to reach Kudumulugumma here this morning.

According to reports, the red rebels threatened the tribals to leave the village suspecting that they had informed police about the former’s presence in Panasput area, where as many as 30 Maoists were killed in an operation last month.

The district administration has provided temporary accommodation to the villagers at the Kudumulugumma block office, sources said.
