According to the state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mona Sharma, the nominations for candidates contesting for the 10 Lok Sabha and 70 Assembly seats would begin from 11 AM to 3 PM and continue till March 22.
Scrutiny of nomination papers would be held on March 24 while the date of withdrawal of nomination papers would be within March 26, she added.
The CEO also informed that the candidates at the time of filing nominations will have to submit their affidavit correctly.
“We would inform the candidate if his/her affidavit is wrong and request to submit a correct affidavit. But if the concerned candidate fails to comply, we would reject his/her nomination papers,” she pointed out.
In the first phase, voting would be held for Bargarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Aska, Brahampur and Koraput Lok Sabha seats and 70 Assembly constituencies coming under these 10 Lok Sabha constituencies on April 10.
The 70 Assembly constituencies are, Padmapur, Bijepur, Bargarh, Atabira, Bhatli, Brajarajnagar, Jharsuguda, Talasara, Sundargarh, Biramitrapur, Raghunathpalli, Rourkela, Rajgangpur, Bonai, Kuchinda, Rengali, Sambalpur, Redhakhol, Debagarh, Chhendipada, Athmallik, Biramaharajpur, Sonepur, Loisingha, Patnagarh, Balangir, Titlagarh, Kantabanji, Nuapada, Khadial, Umerkote, Jharigan, Nabarangpur, Dabugan, Lanjigarh, Junagarh, Dharmagarh, Bhawanipatna, Narla, Baliguda, G Udayagiri, Phulbani, Kantamal, Boudh, Daspalla, Bhanjanagar, Polasara, Kabisuryanagar, Khallikote, Chhatrapur, Aska, Sorada, Sanakhemundi, Hinjili, Gopalpur, Brahampur, Digapahandi, Chikiti, Mohana, Paralakhemundi, Gunpur, Bissam Cuttack, Rayagada, Laxmipur, Kotpad, Jeypore, Koraput, Pottangi, Malkangiri and Chitrakonda.
