“No one shows sympathy towards farmers. So, farmers have to fight for their right united to achieve their goal,” said Editor of Sambad Soumya Ranjan Patnaik while addressing the district-level conclave of farmers under the banner of Nabanirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS) organized in Bhadrak district of Odisha on Wednesday.


The government has sympathy for all expect farmers of the state. They are not getting minimum support price nor social accord and there is no pension scheme for farmers. We have to be united to raise our voice strongly against government apathy towards farmers’ society, he emphasized.

We neither belong to any political party nor to any religion or caste. Farming is our religion. Come and join the December 14 Farmers’ gathering to be held at Bhubaneswar to strengthen our fight against injustice to farmers in the state, he concluded.

State coordinator of NKS Akshay Kumar told farmers to stand united to sharpening voice to protest against government.

“Every government has cheated the farmers. Our problems can only be solved by standing united”, he emphasized demanding their long pending demands such as payment of compensation to kin of farmers who committed suicide, implementation of pension scheme for farmers, better procurement facilities, higher minimum support price, better social accord and drought assistance.

Many leading farmers and farmer leaders had joined the conclave and raised their issues.
