Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital swayed to high-energy songs by Farhan Akhtar as the actor-singer performed live on the concluding day of Xavier Institute of Management’s annual fest, Xpressions’17, yesterday.
He set the tone for the evening with his popular number Sinbad-The Sailor and had the crowd in rapture with Dil Dhadkane Do (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) and Socha Hai (Rock On). Farhan punched his performance with ghazals sending out social messages.
The three-day annual fest event began on November 10. The enthusiasm and exuberance of participants and audience justified the three months of planning and efforts of the students.
XIMB was enveloped in a colour of culture with events such as Goonj and Pratibimb.
Pratibimb, the face-painting competition saw students go wild to discover the artist within them. Besides, there were other events like Gladiator, Skill City, Kurukshetra and Helios, the flagship mega events by the gaming committees of XIMB-XUB. Meanwhile, XIMB-XUB Model United Nations was also being simulated along simultaneously.
B-schools from all over the country participated in the solo singing competition – Goonj. Carnival De Vogue, the fashion show, was filled with bright personalities walking with elegance and panache.
The first day of Xpressions concluded on a high note with the much-awaited EDM night by Lost Stories, an Indian duo composed of Prayag Mehta and Rishab Joshi. Day 2 saw DecibelZ powered by MTV Beats. The last day was a myriad of business competitions and the finale of other events.
