The Football Association of Odisha (FAO) in association with All India Football Federation (AIFF) will start a grassroots football development program in five districts of Odisha soon.
The meeting discussed about the development of football at the grassroots level among budding players in the age group 6-12 years.
Subrat Thatte, manager, Grassroots’ Development Program, AIFF, gave a presentation on the football at grassroots programme in the country. He said the idea was to encourage and train budding footballers at the grass roots level in different states including Odisha.
Among others, Asirbad Behera (honourary secretary, Odisha Olympic Association (OOA) and Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), and Sanjay Behera, honourary secretary, FAO also spoke.
FAO vice presidents, Bijoy Das, Tadit Kumar Rout, Dillip Kumar Sahoo, and Rabi Panda; FAO joint secretary, Avijit Paul, members of Grassroots Development Committee, Akhsya Das, AFC “B” License Coach and AIFF “D” license coach instructor, Rabindra Kumar Parida, member of FAO T&T Committee and FAO council members Anup Kumar Patra and Dhiren Pallei were present at the meeting.
