Former Odisha advocate general Ashok Mohanty, who was arrested earlier today by the CBI in connection with his transactions with the ponzi firm Artha Tatwa Group’s chief Pradip Sethy, was produced before the CBI special chief judicial magistrate court this evening.
Mohanty was arrested from his Cuttack residence.
Following his arrest and arrival at the CBI office here Mohanty was taken to the Capital Hospital for a health check up.
The former advocate general was questioned earlier by the CBI team on his links with the Artha Tatwa Group chief Pradip Sethy. Mohanty had bought a house in the CDA area in Cuttack from the latter for Rs 1.01 crore in 2013.
However, reportedly Mohanty failed to provide the CBI team all the details of the transaction, especially the payment part.
The former advocate general, however, said he had a clear conscience in the matter and insisted he was not involved in any wrongdoing.
He said he had complete faith in God and his ‘guru’ and that whatever he has to say he would tell it in the court.
