Bhubaneswar: Former BJP Mahila Morcha State Vice-President Sushama Biswal joined Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today in presence of Chief Minister and party President Naveen Patnaik.
Sushama, who had contested the 2014 Assembly Election on a BJP ticket from Nilgiri constituency, was defeated by BJD candidate Sukanata Kumar Nayak.
“I will work as a true worker of party and whatever responsibility the parry bestows to me I will sincerely discharge the duties,” Biswal told reporters at Naveen Niwas (residence of Chief Minister) here this afternoon.
Besides, thousands of BJP activists and supporters of Biswal also joined the BJD.
Welcoming her to the party fold, Naveen said: “I believe the joining of Sushama Biswal will strengthen the party.”
