Vigilance sleuths raided the houses of Madhusudan Mohapatra, an executive engineer, who is also the PA (Technical) to Managing Director, Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation Ltd. (OLIC), on Friday.
Vigilance sources said disproportionate assets worth Rs 68.12 lakhs were found during the raids on Mohapatra’s residential building at Ashiyana Plaza near Aiginia under Khandagiri police limits in the city and his ancestral house at village Godipatna Sahi under Tangi Police station in Khurda district.
On the allegation of acquisition and possession of disproportionate assets by Mohapatra, a six member team made raid at his residential building at Ashiyana Plaza, office room here and paternal house at village Godipatna Sahi.
During the raid conducted after the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar issued a search warrant against Mohapatra, the five-member team found both movable and immovable assets in his name and in the names of other family members, said a vigilance official.
The assets unearthed during the raid included costly household articles worth about Rs. 5 lakhs, gold ornaments weighing 263 grams and silver ornaments weighing 1.306 kg worth Rs. 5.66 lakhs, deposit in different banks, LIC, IDFC and Sahara India to the tune of Rs. 22.72 lakhs, and cash amounting to Rs. 1.34 lakhs. The immovable assets found included a double storied building at Ashiyana Plaza at Aiginia, a house at PKRIT Colony in Puri and a homestead plot at Bada Raghunathpurl worth of around Rs. 14.89 lakhs. Besides, it was also revealed that Mohapatra had paid Rs. 18.30 lakhs as advance to Srikrishna Estate & Construction Pvt. Ltd. for purchase of two flats.
