Employees of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Tuesday observed the Communal Harmony Campaign Week at the headquarters office here.
R Venkadasamy, principal chief engineer, ECoR, administered pledge to the employees.
The Week is observed from November 19 to 25 every year to coincide with “Quami Ekta Week” with a view to fostering and reinforcing the spirit of communal harmony, national integration and feeling of pride in the composite culture of India.
The railway employees also pledged not to resort to violence and continue to rise above all differences and disputes relating to religion, language and region and to resolve political and economic grievances through peaceful and constitutional means.
Among others, Md Akhtar, chief personnel officer, and all other senior officers and staff of ECoR attended the ceremony.
The Week was also observed in all the divisional headquarters of ECoR with the respective divisional railway managers administering the pledge.
