Inspired by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India campaign) appeal of the prime minister of India, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) will launch a special cleanliness campaign on Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 in its jurisdiction in Odisha involving “Shramdaan” and awareness activities to keep its workplace clean.
The campaign would be led by Union minister of state for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan at Bhubaneswar Railway Station.
All railway officials will participate in the Shramdaan for spreading awareness on cleanliness. A comprehensive action plan for this has been prepared to cover all railway stations, trains, tracks, workshops, colonies etc with physical involvement of officers and staff at every level in this campaign.
Eminent personalities, public representatives, social workers and all railway employees will participate in the massive campaign at the city railway station to spread the awareness on cleanliness.
Besides, volunteers of Bharat Scouts & Guides, NCC, NSS and public volunteers can also be a part of the awareness campaign.
ECoR would distribute posters, pamphlets, stickers and banners among the general public and use public address system, display on electronic display boards and other infrastructure to spread the message during the campaign.
All divisional railway managers (DRMs) will coordinate these activities within their jurisdiction, an ECoR release said.
