Bhubaneswar, July 3:

The General Provident Fund (GPF) e-Statement service, introduced by the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Odisha, was launched in the state today to provide better services to Government employees.

The service was launched by chief secretary JK Mohapatra in the presence of Principal Accountant General (A &E), Odisha, Gargi Kaul, at the State Secretariat here.

“The online service will benefit at least 1,60,000 government employees in the state”, Kaul said.

With the introduction of e-Statement, the employees can now find out their balances from http://agodisha.gov.in as on date and ensure correctness of facts and figures.

The online system also provides the facility for registration of mobile numbers through which the employees can get their monthly updates via SMS as soon as their subscription or withdrawal is posted by the AG office.

Any misplacement of GPF can be tracked instantly through this SMS system.

The online system has been developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Odisha State Centre, Bhubaneswar with support from Principal Accountant General (A&E) Office, Bhubaneswar and NIC (HQ), New Delhi.
