Odisha’s ace Woman sprinter Dutee Chand equaled the national record in the 200 metre-run as the state team bagged two more medals on the closing day of the 12th Federation Cup National Junior Athletic Championship-2014 here on Sunday.
Dutee set a new meet record clocking 23.90 seconds which was in the name of Mukti Saha (24.07 seconds) in 2001.
She also equaled the national record which was set by V Pandeswari of Tamil Nadu in 1997.
This was Dutee’s second individual gold in this meet.
Earlier on Friday, she had set new national record in 100-metre clocking 11.63 seconds and erased the previous national record of 11.75 seconds by Saraswati Dey in 1996.
In the heptathlon event, Odisha girl Rajeswari Bhoi won the silver with a score of 4353 points.
With this, Odisha finished the medal tally with two gold, one silver and one bronze medal in the championship.
