Vigilance sleuths arrested Banabihari Ghadei, doctor at Balisira community health center (CHC) under Aska police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district, for allegedly demanding and receiving bribe of Rs 5,000.
According to reports, Ghadei had demanded the bribe from one Mithun Dakua of Balisira village to provide the latter his father’s death certificate. Pandav Dakua, father of Mithun, had died on June 2.
When Mithun approached the doctor for his father’s death certificate, he demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000. Mithun reported the matter in Vigilance following which a trap was laid by the anti-corruption agency and Ghadei was caught red-handed while receiving the bribe. The money was recovered by Vigilance officials from his shirt pocket, sources said.
