A total of 43,440 students from Odisha and 4123 students from outside the state got the merit rank in the Diploma Entrance Test (DET) results of which were announced today by Employment and Technical Education and Training minister Sanjay Das Burma.
Out of 67,956 students applied for the test, 47,568 had appeared of which 47,563 students cleared the test with a pass percentage of 99.98.
Among the successful students, 9991 belong to Scheduled Caste, 7713 Scheduled Tribe and 7601 girls.
Biswajit Mohanty of Talcher, Arabinda Mohanty of Mahanga and Santosh Bisht have stood first, second and third respectively in the test.

The test, conducted by the Department of Technical Education and Training (DTET), was held for admission in 32 government and 117 private polytechnic schools in the state.
Sources in the DTET said that the counselling for admission would begin at 41 centres including CIPET-Bhubaneswar, CIPET- Baleswar, Institute of Management and Information Technology (IMIT), Cuttack, Parala Maharaja Government Technical College and BPUT, Rourkela, from June 18 to 25.
