Boudh: Deputy Director of Agriculture Department in Odisha’s Boudh district, Manaranjan Mallik was killed in a road accident late last night.
According to reports, the official had come to Bhubaneswar yesterday for a review meeting of the KALIA scheme. While he was returning Boudh in an SUV last night along with another person, the driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels on NH-57 near Radhanagar village, 15 km away from the Boudh district headquarters.
The SUV overturned killing Mallik on the spot. Driver Harishankar Padhi and another person Chakradhar Patra were critically injured in the accident. They were rescued by Fire personnel and admitted to Boudh Community Health Centre (CHC). The two were later shifted to VIMSAR hospital in Burla as their condition deteriorated.
