New Delhi, June 8:
Sunday was Delhi’s hottest day in 62 years as certain parts of the national capital including the area around Palam airport recorded 47.8 degree Celsius.
This was the highest ever maximum temperature recorded since 1952, the Met department said.
Delhi had recorded 47.4 degree Celsius at Palam area on June 16, 1995.
The Met office has warned of the possibility of thunderstorm and dust storm hitting the Indira Gandhi International Airport and the adjacent areas of South West Delhi tonight.
