Keonjhar, April 9:
The Keonjhar special vigilance court today rejected the bail plea of Deepak Gupta, prime accused in the Rs 1800 crore Uliburu mining scam that rocked Odisha a few months ago.
Gupta was arrested on September 10 last year and sent to jail after his bail plea was rejected in the multi-crore mining scam that had rocked the state.
Recently, Gupta had grabbed the headlines for managing to skip the major part of his stint in jail moving from one hospital to another on health grounds.
He also allegedly spent some days in a hotel in Cuttack. Of the 164 days since his arrest at that time, Gupta allegedly spent over 100 days in various hospitals in Cuttack and Keonjhar.
