Bhubaneswar, Feb 13:
Cuttack Mahila Thana police today took Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) ward – 7 Corporator Ranjita Biswal in for a marathon grilling for alleged links with the Dhal Samant brothers.
While the cops did not brief the media about the outcome of the questioning session, Ranjita confirmed that she indeed was being questioned on her links with the brothers.
“I am the Joint Secretary of Cuttack Nagar Yuvak Sangh. This is how I am connected with the Dhal Samant brothers. I had seen them in various social events. I will cooperate with the police in the investigation,” said Biswal speaking to reporters late in the evening.
In yet another significant development to the case against the Dhal Samant duo, Commissionerate Police today seized Call Record Details (CDR) of 20 people from the residence of the brothers.
As per information provided by the police, the brothers used the CDR to keep a track of their own members, rival gangs and some personnel from the police itself.
Notably, the CDR can only be made available to the police and some select people by the telecom service providers following police requisition. The cops are investigating the issue to figure out how the brothers managed to receive them.
