Brahmagiri: Even as very severe cyclonic storm Titli did not cause much damage in Odisha, subsequent rains and high tides in Chilika lake have created a natural mouth at the lake near Arakhakuda village in Puri district this morning.

Sources said high tidal waves under the impact of the cyclone breached a portion of the lake embankment leading to flood-like situation in Arakhakuda village. Harchadi Sahi, Bhagabata Sahi, Laxmi Narayan Sahi and Sibabanta Sahi of the village have been inundated with 3-feet water due to the breach.

Around 200 families of the village have been affected and remained cut off from outer world due to the water-logging .

However, no administrative officials had reached the spot till last reports came in.
