Puri: Two foreigners today entered the Sri Gundicha temple in Odisha’s pilgrim town, Puri.
According to reports, two Chilean nationals who claimed to be followers of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) entered the temple premises through the Simha Dwara (Lions Gate) of the Sri Gundicha temple.
While they were roaming near the Bhitar Chakada (inside altar) of the temple, they were caught by some temple servitors who handed them over to the police. Police and Sri Jagannath temple employees escorted them out of the temple premises, reports added.
The foreign nationals claimed that they had entered the temple under instructions from God, reports further said.
It’s worth mentioning here that only bonafide Hindus are allowed into Sri Jagannath temple and Sri Gundicha temple.
Notably, Lord Jagannath and his siblings spend seven days at the Sri Gundicha temple during the nine-day-long Rath Yatra.
