Vigilance sleuths today unearthed assets to the tune of over Rs 2 crore from the possession of an Assistant Commercial Tax Officer (ACTO) after simultanesous raids at four places across Odisha in disproportionate assets case.


According to sources, the anti-corruption wing officials from Cuttack Division raided the house and office of ACTO Kailash Chandra Sethi which are a triple storied building at Kaibalya Vihar in Cuttack, a four storied building at Kaibalya Vihar in Cuttack, parental house at Khusaliram Patna in Jagatsinghpur and office chamber at Jajpur Town.

The officials detected 14 plots registered on Sethi and his family members’ name valued at Rs 9.21 lakh, the three storey and four storey building valued at Rs 38 lakh and Rs 81 lakh respectively, a flat registered on his wife Sarojini Sethi’s name in Bhubaneswar was valued at Rs 11 lakh, over Rs 10 lakh bank deposits, LIC policies installments of over Rs 26 lakh, around Rs 4 lakh mutual fund investments, over Rs 10 lakh deposits in different financial institutions among other things.
