Vigilance sleuths today conducted simultaneous raids at four places in Odisha capital belonging to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) staffer Golak Pradhan on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to sources, the anti-corruption wing sleuths conducted raids at the residence and a Kalyan Mandap of Pradhan located in Sundarapada area on the outskirts of the city.
Besides, raids were also conducted at his house in Aerobanga and a shopping complex at Bangamunda belonging to him.
The officials have laid hands on some incriminating documents, insurance policies and several bank passbooks belonging to Pradhan. Besides, the sleuths have seized Rs 2 lakh in cash and around 500 gm gold jewellery from Pradhan’s house, sources said.
As the raids were continuing till the time of filing the report, the estimated value of the properties of Pradhan was calculated at around Rs 2 crore, an official said.
