Cracker godown catches fire in Odisha; seven injured

Bargarh, Feb 26:

At least seven persons were injured and five of them seriously in a major fire that broke out in a crackers godown at Marwadi Pada locality of Odisha’s district headquarters town of Bargarh in the afternoon today.



While the identities of the injured persons were not yet known, five of the critically injured have been shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla, reports said.

A car which was parked near the godown was also destroyed in the blaze.

The cracker godown belonging to a businessman identified as Jagdish Lath was located in his residence, reports added.

Reports said four fire engines which were pressed into service have been able to douse the fire.
