The Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here today allowed the Odisha police to take arrested notorious Dhalasamanta brothers (D-brothers) and one of their aide Debasish Kar on a remand of five days.

D-brothers

The Twin City Commissionerate Police had moved the court to take Sushant Dhalasamant and Sushil Dhalasamant and Debasish Kar on a remand of eight days to interrogate them in connection with the murder of Om Prakash Swain alias Om.  However, the court allowed police to take them on a remand of five days.

Police had taken Debasish Kar, one of the alleged main accomplices of the criminal siblings, on remand for interrogation about the twin murders of Deepak Mallick and Om Prakash Swain on February 16.

D-brothers were produced amid tight security at the SDJM court on completion of their third phase remand.

Notably, the police has already taken the duo on remand for 19 days.
