An unbeaten 250 by opener Ashwin Hebbar, complimented by an unbeaten 164 by R Surajpreetam, helped Andhra Pradesh take a first innings against Odisha on the fourth and final day of the Cooch Behar Plate-B tournament at Ravenshaw ground here on Wednesday.
The duo, with a record unbeaten 359-run partnership for the third wicket, took the team’s total to 475 and registered a first innings lead of 178 runs.
The hosts, in their second innings, were in trouble as four wickets fell for 52 runs. However, Subhranshu Senapati (30) and Ranjit Singh (26) managed to hang on and ensured a draw. At close, the hosts were 89 for 4.
On the basis of the first innings lead, Andhra Pradesh got three points while Odisha had to remain content with just one point.
