Bhubaneswar, Jun 7:
Director General of Police (DGP) of Odisha Sanjeeb Marik is in two minds whether to avail or cancel his leave.
The Home department, in the meanwhile, has sanctioned the leave of Marik from June 7 to 17 and put Crime Branch ADG BK Sharma as in-charge DGP in his absence.
However, the DGP, a day before his leave, was found working at the state headquarters on Saturday. Besides, he also attended a review meeting of the Home department at the State Secretariat here.
He had also informed that he might attend a high level meeting of the Home department on June 11.
The confusion on Marik’s availaing the leave prevails as he has not given anything in writing about cancellation of his leave application, sources said.
A senior official of the Home department said though the DGP had informed that he would cancel his leave application at the review meeting held on Saturday, he has not informed the department so far.
While the adverse remarks of the Odisha High Court on the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, the sudden leave applied by the DGP has raised eyebrows in the political and bureaucratic circles.
