Odisha Chief minister Naveen Patnaik today directed the concerned authorities to complete work on the ongoing projects on a war-footing ahead of the ensuing Nabakalebara festival in the pilgrim city of Puri next year.
The directive of the chief minister came at a review meeting at the State Secretariat here on the ongoing infrastructure development projects in Puri.
The meeting discussed the progress made in roads, electricity, discharge of rainwater from water-clogged areas, underground drainage and pipe water supply in Puri.
It was revealed that construction of seven new roads linking Puri and the roads inside Puri town would be completed by March next year.
Besides, the construction work of three large sub-stations at Shamuka, Samagara and Konark would also be completed by March next year to ensure uninterrupted power supply to Puri town.
The chief minister directed the Water Resources department to clear the logjam in the construction of a reservoir and laying of pipe lines to ensure uninterrupted pipe water supply at the earliest.
Among others, Puri MLA Maheswar Mohanty, additional chief secretary, Finance, UN Behera and secretaries of Energy, Urban Development, Water Resources and Works departments were present in the meeting.
