Commissionerate police start awareness campaign in Odisha capital

The commissionerate police have started awareness campaign against crime and theft in a police van.

awarness against crime The campaign which has started from Kharavela Nagar police station, will move to the areas under Capital Police Station, Janpath, Master Canteen, Ram Mandir Square and Shaheed Nagar etc and make people aware of criminal activities taking place in their area tell them to remain on alert.

Reducing the rate of crime in the city and the precautions that need to be taken to prevent these crimes are the prime objectives of this campaign.

The van would announce messages like: don’t keep your valuables inside the vehicles, don’t pay attention if someone drops money saying it’s yours and asks you to pick it up, take help of cops while travelling with highly valuable goods and large amounts of cash, use double locks in your motorcycles etc.

“We are starting this campaign initially from the areas like Ram Mandir, Master canteen, Janpath etc. This campaign would be extended to Chandrasekharpur, Laxmisagar and Shaheed Nagar areas soon. The vehicle will be on the roads from 10 AM till 8 PM and a driver, a constable and an officer from the local police station will be on duty in this vehicle,” said Sanjeev Satpathy, IIC of Kharavela Nagar Police Station.
