A teacher of a government-aided college was today suspended for campaigning for the local BJD candidate in Pattamundai Assembly constituency in violation of the Model Code of Conduct in Odisha’s Kendrapara district, said official sources.
Sridhar Behera, a teacher posted in Pattamundai Women’s College, was charged with canvassing for the ruling party. An inquiry committee constituted by the district election office, which probed the allegations, found corroborative evidence against Behera.
Kendrapara collector Nitin Bhanudas Jawale said the erring college teacher was suspended for defying the Model Code of Conduct as authorities found substantial evidence against him.
